Sunburst Enviromnental Services will provide weed control in lawn and beds in conjunction with full maintenance service or as a separate service. All applicators are licensed and have many years experience with weed control techniques.
Weed control programs are set up to meet your needs and budget. Plans can be set up with up to 4 granular applications at different times of the year and multiple sprayings of turf areas or a single post emergent spraying to control broadleaf weeds and undesirable grasses.
Due to our short season, 2 or 3 granular applications are recommended along with one post emergent crabgrassf broadleaf spray and one broadleaf spray
Granular applications:
- Granular applications are most effective on wet turf
- All granulars are commercial grade as used on golf courses
Spring
- Pre-emergent to control crabgrass and broadleaf weed germination which also contains a broad
spectrum fertilization along with post emergent broadleaf control
Mid and late summer
- A weed and feed to fertilize and control broadleaf weeds
Fall
- A low rate fertilizer to get grass off to a healthy start in spring
Spray formulas:
- Sprays are most effective if no rain occurs within 24 hrs after application
- A post emergent spray to control broadleaf weeds and undesirable grass species
- A selective spray to control broadleaf weeds
Weeds in beds:
- A nonselective spray to kill all weeds and undesired plants
- If a property has extensive plantings spraying by a trained horticulturalist can be ananged.
All:
- * Pre-emergent- a chemical application that inhibits the spouting of existing weed seeds
- Post-emergent- a chemical application that kills existing weeds
- Selective- a chemical application that kills weeds but not desired grasses
- Non selective- a chemical application that will kill all vegetation that is sprayed
